The Pluriverse

Main theme: The Pluriverse

Welcome to the Pluriverse of the BEYOND Film Festival 2026!
The 2026 edition of the BEYOND Film Festival invites filmmakers, storytellers, visionaries, and genre-defying creators to submit their cinematic works – pieces that explore the richness, contradictions, and beauty of plural lived realities.

The Pluriverse is not a fantasy – it is a profound political and philosophical concept.
It is rooted in Indigenous knowledge, ecological worldviews, and the urgent need to question dominant Western narratives of growth and progress.
The Pluriverse envisions a world in which multiple realities coexist – held together by respect, diversity, and radically different ways of living, thinking, and telling stories.

We are looking for films that celebrate difference, open up new perspectives, and enable transformation.

All film formats and genres are welcome:

  • Feature films
  • Documentaries
  • Short films
  • Experimental & hybrid works

Especially welcome this year: COMEDIES!
Because what kind of Pluriverse would it be if we couldn’t laugh?

Humor is resistance.
Humor is healing.
Humor is also a shift in perspective – from below, from the side, upside down.

Whether your film holds a mirror to dominant worldviews, exposes artificial or natural stupidity, explores alternative social or ecological paths, makes Indigenous cosmologies visible, breaks with narrative conventions, or simply opens up a new view of the world – show us.
