Following a primal instinct, Tiffany roams the boreal forests of Manitoba in search of edible mushrooms – and of something much deeper: inner peace.
Her path leads her to places where resilience and resistance meet. She encounters Indigenous and non-Indigenous land defenders who are fighting together to preserve intact nature – as the basis of life and for the well-being of us all.
Gradually, a poetic story unfolds about trauma and healing, connection and resilience. The forest becomes not just a setting, but a resonant space for a personal and political quest.
Everything We Need Is Here is a declaration of love to the Earth and, at the same time, a film about the power of collective resistance.

Katharina Stieffenhofer
Katharina Stieffenhofer is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Winnipeg, Canada, whose work focuses on environmental and social justice. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Manitoba. After working as a visual artist for 16 years, she began working in the art departments of Winnipeg’s film industry in 2002.
Her deep connection to nature dates back to her childhood on a small farm on an island in the Rhine River in Germany. Today, she is a passionate gardener, seed saver, and mushroom forager.
Her first documentary, The York Boat Project (2003), emerged from a site-specific land art project at Lake Winnipeg. Her first feature-length documentary, And This Is My Garden (2010), portrays a successful school gardening initiative in a predominantly Indigenous community in northern Manitoba. From Seed to Seed (2018) explores questions about the meaning of life alongside the challenges of farming and the impacts of the climate crisis.
Stieffenhofer describes her latest film, Everything We Need Is Here, as a love poem to the Earth – weaving together themes of nature, interconnectedness, resilience, and resistance.
