Statement by the director

It was very important to me to show an atypical hero in a film. Often, viewers see heroes on screen who have fallen into a series of failures or personal experiences from which they must free themselves. We go through a difficult journey with them. But in the film ‘Just Live’, the hero has condemned himself to difficulties; no one and nothing has prevented him from living happily. He decided on his own that he should do this and start a new life at an advanced age. For the sake of another person. It was important to me to show that there is a place for self-sacrifice in a world torn apart by conflict. That in our time there is still support and responsibility towards other people. Towards the younger generation. My hero is like the Roman emperor Diocletian, who abdicated the throne and started growing cabbages, just to show how and where to find happiness.
